Choosing Your Granite Finish
Granite is one of the most varied natural materials on earth, as no two pieces are exactly alike. Color, origin, grain pattern, and finish all come together to create a memorial that is uniquely yours. Understanding these choices helps you make the decision with confidence.

Rock Pitched Finished

Hand Axe Finish

Polished Finish

Bush Hammered Finish

Honed Finish

Diamond Sawn Finish

Dusted Finish
The process of polishing the granite closes the stone's pores and makes the stone shinier and darker in appearance.
If your cemetery plot sits beneath a tree, a polished finish is often the practical choice, as it stays cleaner, shedding debris more easily in rain and snow
If you prefer the look of a traditional, older-style memorial, a dusted finish gives the stone a softer, matte character, almost like sandpaper to the touch.
A stone cutter will rock-pitch a stone by hand. This gives the stone a rougher and more natural appearance.
